You, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? (Romans 2:21). Trusting ourselves to live a Godly life is pure vanity. We have no power accept in Christ; we are all in need of reconciliation and dependance on God.
Many of us try cutting off certian sin and when we get by for a while we congragulate ourselves. We have no power, we have no strength we have no confidence unless it is through Christ. Seeking Christ and serving Him is greater than focusing on a getting over a sin alone. He seek and all else will fall into a place that He sees fit.
Many of us build ourselves up with a Religious heart portraying a selfish and arrogant mindset.
Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, and in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.
